THE STUDIO

…a cool, calm and relaxing space where Eladio Calleja created his works, some of which are on display. The decor was inspired by the natural geology around us and his love and use of metals – from the solid granite handbasin to the steel and rock bed and mirror.

The entrance to this detached building is accessed by stairs in the rocks onto the private terrace with olive trees and mountain views.

We are pleased to cater for your individual requirements. We can also provide tapas and sangria in the afternoons (lovely in the cave), birthday or anniversary treats or romantic honeymoon specials – just let us know your requirements.

Here at Casa Calleja we place great emphasis on the “Breakfast” part of “Bed and Breakfast” so rather than the standard bread roll and coffee we are delighted to offer our guests a comprehensive tapas style morning meal. We use seasonal fresh produce (either home grown or locally sourced) Breakfast is usually served between 8.30 and 9.30 in the front cave but can be served in the Studio or on the terrace if requested.

The Studio has direct access onto the pool terrace, a very private multi-leveled area enclosed by a natural rock cliff and ancient carob tree. The lounging pool is the ideal place to relax with a cool drink on a hot day.

The Long terrace with seating and loungers is a real suntrap, being part of the natural amphitheater of the main cave complex. Relax whilst being watched over by The Man in the Mountain!

The Vine terrace at the entrance to the main house and cave is a shady spot provided by a prolific old grapevine. Help yourself in season.

The french doors of the Studio open out onto your private terrace with seating to view the magnificent sunsets.

Pretty gardens and terraces to relax in containing fruit trees – orange, mandarin, apricot, nispera, grape and avocado. Some of which may appear at breakfast depending on the season.

And of course the amazing cave experience and facilities…
