THE CAVE

Our beautiful cave was formed in the limestone mountains and fossils show that this was around 135 million years ago, and since then there has been evidence that human beings have used the main cave complex around 100,000 years ago. We like to think that our cave was also used in Paleolithic and Neolithic times. There are bore holes that descend from the top of the mountain into the cave and we have a selection of speleothem showing that the cave formation is still happening!

Our cave has two sections: the outer part is where we usually serve breakfast and the inner cave is a calm space with subtle lighting, seating and an underground fish pond giving a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. On hot days this is the perfect place to be as the temperature remains constant at 19 degrees.
